Good Morning 😀
Happy Saturday! Like most Saturdays, I began my morning with a couple of minutes of deep breathing. During that time, I close my eyes and simply listen. I try to notice as many different sounds as I can. Depending on where I am, it could be the rustling of the trees, the cheerful bark of the neighborhood dog heading out for his morning walk, the whir of a passing cyclist, or the flutter of birds welcoming a new day. For me, every sound seems to carry a memory. It reminds me of a person, a place, or a moment that I had almost forgotten. Today, the sound that caught my attention was a group of twelve or thirteen children walking home from the park. They were laughing, chatting, teasing one another, kicking each other playfully, and somehow hugging each other at the same time. It instantly made me smile. For a brief moment, I was a child again. Images of Frank, David and Eli came rushing back. I could almost see us together, laughing just like those children. I could remember the jokes, the arguments that lasted all of five minutes, the endless games that seemed so important back then. The feeling of nostalgia was wonderful... until reality quietly interrupted. I found myself wondering... Where are they today? What became of them? Should I get in touch? Sometimes a sound knows where your heart wants to go before your mind does. Have you ever experienced something like that? Has a sound... a smell... or even a familiar place suddenly transported you back to someone you haven't thought about for years? Maybe it would be fun to reach out to someone you have not met or spoken to for some time. If you do end up talking, and feel like sharing, I would love to hear about it. Have a great weekend! Until tomorrow, Bob
