Good Morning 😀

This morning, as I enjoyed my cup of coffee, my thoughts drifted to something that happened a few evenings ago. I had gone out for dinner with a few friends. The food was good. The restaurant was beautiful. Service was prompt. Yet, as I thought about the evening, I realized that none of those were the first things that came to mind. What I remembered most was how the place made me feel. The warmth with which we were greeted. The genuine smile from the server. The way they made us feel as though they were truly happy we had chosen to spend our evening there. And it struck me. Perhaps that’s why some restaurants are always full while others, serving equally good food, remain half empty. People rarely return only for the food. They return for the feeling. Because long after the meal is forgotten, the feeling remains. The more I thought about it, the more I realized this isn’t just true of restaurants. It’s true of life. Every interaction leaves behind an emotional residue. People may not remember every word you spoke. They may not remember every favour you did. But they will always remember how they felt after being with you. Did they feel appreciated? Respected? Valued? Important? Or did they leave feeling invisible? Human beings are surprisingly forgiving. We’ll overlook mistakes. We’ll forgive delays. We’ll even offer suggestions when something isn’t quite right because we genuinely want people to do better. But there’s one thing we rarely forgive. Being made to feel unimportant. Whether in a friendship, a marriage, a workplace, or a business, people can overlook almost everything else. But if they consistently walk away feeling ignored, disrespected, or diminished, they rarely come back. Perhaps that’s the greatest lesson of all. People may forget what you said. They may forget what you did. But they almost never forget how you made them feel. What do you think? As you read this, is there someone who comes to mind who might appreciate this gentle reminder? Perhaps today is a good day to share it with them. Until tomorrow, Bob
